I headed back to the Pokémon Center to heal everyone, before we were then ready to take off back to Lumiose City via Route 13 where we had been training before. We also got the TM for Grass Knot, before we jumped onto the slide and back down to the gym entrance. Our 4th gym badge safely secured under our belt. The final opponent was a Weepinbell, but Fenrir unleashed a final Mystical Fire, and the battle was over. Fenrir managed to get off Mystical Fire, and Gogoat finally went down. And Ramos healed Gogoat again, so Flame Charge came through to put Gogoat into the yellow. Ramos healed Gogoat, but Gogoat was straight back into the red with Mystical Fire again. Gogoat was up next and Mystical Fire came through to put Gogoat into the red. Flame Charge took care of Jumpluff in a one hit KO, and with the speed boost, I knew I had a good set up. Ramos opened with Jumpluff, and I opened with Fenrir. After a few training battles, we made it. So as we begin climbing up the tree via all the vines, we make our way around the gym battling all the rangers on our way. (Also, shout out to all rangers, I love the Pokémon Ranger games). Fenrir took front and center as we began battling the Pokémon Rangers around the gym. As gyms are also fantastic places to level grind. Immediately, I look at the real MVPs Gumbo & Fenrir who are just grinning at me.Īfter a little grinding, we headed to the gym. The ultimate goal of course was to get everyone to level 45 so we were on par for a decent advantage again for the Coumarine Gym. Gumbo had a close call with the next Trapinch we encountered, but Ryo reached level 34.
With that, I was able to throw out an Ultra Ball, and Picco joined the team. Trapinch lived on 1HP after the combined effects of Toxic and a critical hit sludge from Gumbo. THAT TOTALLY SHOULD HAVE DIED BUT DIDN'T. I headed to Route 13, and the first encounter was a Trapinch. Booyah.Īfter that, it was heal the team and back to grinding. And McTubsy finally broke out of its confusion and landed strength. McTubsy wasn't through its confusion yet though, so more healing. (I had a lot of potions, I was ready for the long haul). Frogadier got off two water pulses, the second confusing McTubsy (I hate confusion). Ryo had already gotten Frogadier into the yellow, so McTubsy came out. I opted against my judgement to risk it and re-healed Ryo, anticipating a Water Pulse from Frogadier. I healed up Ryo and then pulled off a pretty tough hitting Power Up Punch. Ryo unleashed a Swords Dance and then attempted Metal Sound, while Frogadier managed to land a water pulse which confused Ryo and got Ryo into the red. Ryo was ready to go toe to toe with Frogadier. Blu pulled off a surf, and Absol was down. Absol started chipping away at Blastoise, but a mega boosted skull bash left Absol in the red. It was Mega Evolution time, and it was Skull Bash. Blu came out to fight Absol, as I knew that Fenrir would struggle against a dark type match up. A combination of Toxic and Sludge, and Meowstic was down.
He opened up with Meowstic, and I unleashed Gumbo, seeing as Gumbo was pretty mad over the loss of Cecelia. Diantha said she wanted to battle me the next time we met, and then I headed up onto the monorail.Īs soon as my team was healed, I headed straight up to the gym and Calem ran up to me. which is helpful that I have no flying types on my team (. To find Professor Sycamore and Champion Diantha!. I knew I needed to pit stop at the Pokémon Center first, and because Coumarine's Pokémon Center is on the monorail, I headed into the station. We made it to Coumarine City, and immediately received a Holo Clip, Calem was challenging us to a battle. We continued along the route, battling trainers but thanks to our extra training, we were pretty set with a decent level advantage. After healing Blu of paralysis, we took out Seviper with Surf, and Miltank got taken out with a combination of Aqua Tail and Surf too.
Seviper managed to paralyse Blu though, but we weren't stopping now. It was his big moment for us to see his mega evolution. I decided to change up the trainer battle though, and brought Blu out. And enjoyed running round on Skiddo before heading into the house next to the small paddock.Īfter obtaining the TM for Attract, I headed back out and away from the ranch. I jumped onto a Skiddo in excitement (I have always wanted a Skiddo on Y. After the battle, I found a ranch, which was filled with Skiddo. Hopping off Blu, I ran to battle a backpacking trainer. Sadly, as I'd already caught KingDerpy I couldn't catch any Pokémon just yet, as we ran into a Tentacool. Of course that was perfect for Blu, as Surf is actually a pretty decent move. Leaving the Pokémon Center, Calem ran into us and gave us the HM for Surf.
